Manufacturing Engineer - Electrical

As the Manufacturing Engineer – Electrical, you will drive efforts on the electrical manufacturing production line, and optimize and improve the manufacturing electrical process. You will improve manufacturing efficiency, increase product quality and worker safety, and reduce costs by analyzing current practices and processes, evaluating new practices, processes and technologies, and cost reduction activities in designated areas. Sentinelle is a low-volume manufacturer of industry-leading high-tech devices.
Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Engineer – Electrical will develop new and improve existing process, product and equipment quality, capability, capacity, safety and cost, and will ensure product and process quality for the manufacturing and development of new products. You will plan, design, and maintain a stable, qualified manufacturing process through the design of fixtures, acquisition of tooling, and using quality tools to optimize process capability; and will resolve product and process non-conformances and resolution through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Provide project support and/or leadership on the introduction of new products and product modifications.
  • Support ECN process (design change validation and verification, BOM generation, process definition, etc.).
  • Use in-depth knowledge of electromagnetics to develop robust test and production methods.
  • Employ sound judgment in anticipating potential failure modes and proactively mitigating risks.
  • Quality Planning (PFMEA, Process Capability, DFSS, DFS).
  • Product quality and support (design and process changes and defects at supplier, in production and at customer, troubleshooting, RCA, CAPA).
  • Capacity planning and project execution.
  • Supplier development and qualification.
  • Supplier quality management and project execution
  • Plant and work station layout and design (lean).
  • Process and assembly tooling and equipment.
  • Manufacturing process development and improvement (lean).
  • Perform time studies.
  • Develop/maintain work instructions.
  • Develop/implement inspection and test procedures and equipment.
  • Supervise and train operators.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Provide input into new designs to ensure manufacturability (DFM, DFSS, DFS, PFMEA).
  • Track output and quality metrics.
  • Track production costs.
  • Implement corrective and preventative actions to address production quality issues.
  • Drive continuous efficiency and quality improvement.
  • Perform other duties/special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years experience in an electrical/electronics assembly environment.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in manual assembly of PCBs or other electrical/electronic assemblies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of various manufacturing methods and a desire to initiate, test, and qualify methods in a practical hands-on environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with RF and/or microwave electronics.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.
  • Familiar with the use of Microsoft Office software and ability to manipulate and extract data.
  • Thorough hands-on knowledge of engineering mechanical assembly drawing and ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
  • University degree in Engineering.
