As a Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical, you will bring your passion for quality in manufacturing to setting up manufacturing of new products and to optimizing existing in-house and outsourced processes.
Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical will investigate and develop new manufacturing techniques, troubleshoot part quality issues, improve manufacturing efficiency, increase product quality and worker safety, evaluating new practices, processes and technologies, and cost reduction activities.
- Provide project support and/or leadership on the introduction of new products.
- Employ mechanical aptitude and creativity to solve problems.
- Optimize work station layout.
- Design/test assembly tooling.
- Manufacturing process development.
- Work closely with product developers to transition products to manufacturing.
- Provide feedback on the design and manufacturability of new products.
- Perform time studies.
- Develop/maintain work instructions.
- Develop/implement inspection and test procedures.
- Supervise and train operators.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Track output and quality metrics.
- Track production costs.
- Implement corrective actions to address production quality issues.
- Drive continuous efficiency and quality improvement.
- Perform other duties/special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in a mechanical manufacturing assembly environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong quality focus and working knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.
- Demonstrated experience with various manufacturing methods and a desire to initiate, test, and qualify methods in a practical hands-on environment.
- Thorough hands-on knowledge of Engineering mechanical assembly, drawings and ability to read electrical schematic drawings.
- Ability to work under time constraints.
- University degree in Engineering.
Desired
- Electrical manufacturing experience.
- Work experience under GMP.
- Experience with medical device manufacturing.
- Competence with SolidWorks, databases, Microsoft Office applications, MRP systems.
- Experience in manual assembly of PCBs or other electrical/electronic assemblies.
- Experience with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Kanban, 6 Sigma.
