Test Engineer

As the Test Engineer you will develop and implement efficient and effective testing of RF electronic subassemblies for use in MRI. If you are an engineering professional looking for a role with a healthcare focus in an urban location, this role is for you. Sentinelle is a high-tech production facility making low volumes of hand-made parts; with many new products needing testing plans and equipment to be developed.
Responsibilities
- Combine strong problem solving skill with an in-depth understanding of RF electronics and failure modes to pinpoint problems.
- Develop documented test protocols that effectively capture key functionality of innovative medical products.
- Perform full functional testing, troubleshooting of RF electronics-based product assemblies.
- Use a wide variety of techniques to inspect electronic components and assemblies.
- Quarantine non-conforming material for subsequent analysis.
- Design, set up and maintain test fixtures for various inspections and tests of electronic components, parts and systems.
- Train and assess subcontractors in performing specialized testing of our products.
- Effectively interpret and communicate test results with responsible engineer(s).
- Perform other duties/special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Post-secondary technical education (2 year diploma or equivalent experience). (Electronics Technology or Electrical Engineering).
- Minimum 2 years experience in troubleshooting/debugging of electronics to component level.
- Hand soldering and quality inspection skills with reference to IPC standards.
- Experience with analog/RF/microwave electronics.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, knowledge of test methodologies.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to both work effectively in a team environment as well as with minimum supervision.
- Excellent computer skills, specifically MS Office.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or ISO 13485:2003 processes.
- IPC 610-A certified.

- Experience operating MRI scanners an asset.
- Experience with developing automated inspection/testing.
- Experience interacting with large ECMs.
- Reliability testing experience.
- Experience creating process documentation.
