Production Technician and Technologist

The Production Technicians and Technologists will work in our manufacturing facility assembling, integrating and testing electronics assemblies for medical devices. Working with engineering personnel, you will introduce new products into production. You will also work with leading edge technologies in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This is a great opportunity to work with a growing team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
We currently have day shift opportunities but will be moving to two shifts in the future.
Responsibilities
- Test and troubleshoot parts, assemblies and field returns.
- Improve manufacturing processes and write/update work instructions.
- Manually solder electronic components on to boards and assemble mechanical components.
- Build production parts and develop prototypes for research and development.
- Performance tracking and MRP data entry.
- Component inspection, defect tracking and supplier feedback.
- Material kitting, receiving and packaging.
- Perform other duties/special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Experienced in soldering and de-soldering: electronic components, circuit boards, and cable assemblies including trouble shooting and repair.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools in an electronics assembly environment.
- Ability to interpret and formulate electrical/electronic drawings and work instructions.
- Proven ability to work with speed, while maintaining consistently high quality.
- A self starting team player with good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand process documentation including Bills of Material and assembly drawings.
- Ability to communicate well in English, both verbally and in written format.
- Engineering technician diploma or equivalent experience.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.) and internet computer skills.
Desired
- Skilled in use of advanced measurement devices.
- Training in advanced soldering practices.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or ISO 13485:2003 processes.
- IPC 610 Certification or training.
- Electronics Technician or Electronics Technologist certification.
